(The Verge) – Almost 11 months after Superstorm Sandy slammed the boardwalk, a fire has spread through the Seaside Heights boardwalk.
Seaside Heights police chief Thomas Boyd reported that the fire started at the southern most Kohr’s stand in Seaside Park. Kohr’s also owns other stands throughout the boardwalk.
From there, the fire has spread north due to south winds. As of this writing, the fire has spread up to the boardwalk just past FunTown pier.
Explosions have been reported in this fire.
According to Jersey Shore Hurricane News’ Facebook page, specifics of this fire are unknown.
As of 5:45, the fire has spread up to Beachcomber Bar & Grill.
