West Long Branch, NJ- The volunteers at the Monmouth Area Vegetarian Society (MAVS) are hosting a free vegan potluck Thanksgiving celebration plus a special presentation with Mike Stura, Animal Rescuer and a longtime volunteer at many sanctuaries. The event will take place at Monmouth University’s Magill Commons Club Dining Room on Sunday, November 17h, 2013 at 1:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Individuals who wish to attend this special presentation may contribute by bringing a vegan dish that is fall-themed or vegan Thanksgiving favorites, but all vegan dishes are welcome. Please also provide an index card or a sheet of paper listing all the ingredients used as well as serving utensils. During the event, Mike Stura, an animal rights advocate, will discuss his familiarity with animal rescue and why it is so important to him. “I have been volunteering at various animal sanctuaries for a little over four years now. I hope that my personal experiences and the specific rescues I will share will encourage others to become a volunteer,” said Stura.
