(The Verge)- The rumors are true! The moment every kid that grew up in the 90’s has been waiting for is here! Boy Meets World is back, with a spin off called Girl Meets World. To our delight the original Corey and Topanga (Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel) will be returning!
Girl Meets World will focus on Corey and Topanga’s 13 year old daughter Riley (actress not confirmed yet), and while different from the original we can only hope it brings the same laughs and tears as Boy Meets World.
The original series ran for 7 years we saw everything from Corey and Topanga’s first kiss, to their wedding day, to them moving away to New York for college. Now we get to watch as they raise a daughter! There is no confirmation that the rest of the original cast will be joining the new series, however, lets hope Minkus makes an appearance!
While the pilot is only in it’s early stages, Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage both confirm that they will be joining the cast!
Fishel Confirmed the spin off on her tumblr saying:
First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome. That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.
And Savage Confirmed on his twitter stating:
It has also been confirmed by a rep for Disney that Michael Jacobs, the original producer of Boy Meets world, has signed on to produce Girl Meets World as well! (E! News)
