(The Verge) – Hailing from Scranton, Pennsylvania are some of the most original rockers from the 2010’s: Tigers Jaw. They are the epitome of underground indie angst-filled rock that has been so regrettably absent from the music scene of today. Their live shows buzz with the energy and affection of hundreds of die hard fans who shout out every verse. The band is reminiscent of early emo acts such as Mineral and newer, more well-known alternative bands such as Brand New (another band you must know) creating a rough blend of deep, emotional lyrics,highly distorted guitars and chugging drum beats. This a band you will want to listen to when you are driving by yourself with all of the windows rolled down and the volume turned way up. The only problem for all of the new fans that I am sure this article will generate–is that Tigers Jaw recently broke up. Yes, after three short years of releasing albums and at the height of their success, this awesome group of six has already disbanded. But hey, at least you will score some major points if you drop their name at a party full of hipsters.
